I must confess, there have been moments in my life when I’ve unintentionally broken the law. These weren’t grand acts of defiance but rather small, everyday slip-ups that occurred through a mixture of inattention and forgetfulness. From slightly exceeding the speed limit to forgetting to mail a check, I’ve come to realize that such minor infractions are more common than not. They serve as humbling reminders of our human fallibility.
My Speeding Saga
One of the most relatable instances has to be the times I’ve caught myself speeding. Picture this: I’m on an open road, lost in the rhythm of a song or deep in thought, and without realizing it, my foot presses a bit too hard on the accelerator. The moment of truth comes when I see the flashing lights in my rearview mirror, signaling a mistake I wasn’t even aware I was making. It’s an easy slip to make, rooted not in recklessness but in a momentary lapse of attention.
