I’m usually a pretty good cook, and when I’m not sure about something, I always check the internet to avoid any mistakes. But there’s one culinary disaster I’ll never forget. One morning, still groggy from sleep, I decided to whip up some scrambled eggs. Reaching for the salt, I accidentally grabbed the baking soda instead. Oblivious to the mix-up, I sprinkled it generously into the eggs.

As they cooked, I noticed something odd—the eggs started bubbling and frothing in a bizarre way. Puzzled, I thought, What on earth is happening? Ignoring the warning signs, I took a bite. The taste was awful, and it hit me immediately that I’d added something entirely different. That’s when I realized my “salt” was actually baking soda. Let’s just say, I didn’t have eggs for breakfast that day!

Hello everyone,

I’m someone who enjoys cooking at its core, but baking, especially desserts, has never been my strong suit. There are two particular instances that come to mind when recalling my culinary mishaps.

One time, I decided to roast a duck. To my delight, it turned out beautifully – golden and crispy. I proudly served it to my family, but as I began to carve it, I realized I had left the duck’s various parts (legs, neck, wings) inside a plastic bag from the store. It was a hilarious moment, and we all shared a good laugh.

On another occasion, I attempted to make an omelet. Instead of reaching for the salt, I accidentally grabbed the baking soda. Perplexed by the strange consistency and unaware of my error, I tasted it. To say the least, it was a terrible experience.

These experiences remind me that everyone has their off days in the kitchen, and it’s all part of the learning journey. While baking may not be my forte, these mishaps have certainly provided humorous stories and improved my skills in the kitchen.
