Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

My daily routine includes avidly reading the latest news. I find myself particularly drawn to political news, whether it’s domestic or international. It has become a daily ritual for me to stay updated on the happenings that shape our world. However, there are other subjects I’d like to delve deeper into, broadening my knowledge and understanding beyond the realms of politics.

What would your life be like without music?

What would your life be like without music?

In a word, dull. Music is a constant presence in my life, whether at home or in the car. I find myself surrounded by various genres, and it brings an essential vibrancy and rhythm to my daily routines. A life without music would lack the colorful tapestry that enriches and enlivens each day.

Kitchen bloopers

Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail.

Hello everyone,

I’m someone who enjoys cooking at its core, but baking, especially desserts, has never been my strong suit. There are two particular instances that come to mind when recalling my culinary mishaps.

One time, I decided to roast a duck. To my delight, it turned out beautifully – golden and crispy. I proudly served it to my family, but as I began to carve it, I realized I had left the duck’s various parts (legs, neck, wings) inside a plastic bag from the store. It was a hilarious moment, and we all shared a good laugh.

On another occasion, I attempted to make an omelet. Instead of reaching for the salt, I accidentally grabbed the baking soda. Perplexed by the strange consistency and unaware of my error, I tasted it. To say the least, it was a terrible experience.

These experiences remind me that everyone has their off days in the kitchen, and it’s all part of the learning journey. While baking may not be my forte, these mishaps have certainly provided humorous stories and improved my skills in the kitchen.

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

Is an eternal question because life constantly encourages learning, and there are always enlightening things. What I have recently learned, influenced by my age and experiences, is that the better you are at something, the more criticism you may face, especially if your knowledge surpasses that of your leader.

In such situations, I have come to understand that it’s important to stay focused on doing my job to the best of my ability and to handle the attacks by deflecting them gracefully. It’s essential not to let criticism deter you from your goals and to use it as a motivator to continually improve and showcase your capabilities.

What are your favorite types of foods?

What are your favorite types of foods?

Oh, this is a great question! I absolutely love to eat, and luckily, I can enjoy a wide variety of foods. I have a special fondness for pasta, vegetables, but when it comes to favorites, it has to be meat, no matter what kind. If anyone is familiar with the famous Hungarian goulash or perhaps an Aztec dish, they’ll understand my passion for a hearty, flavorful meal. Just thinking about this has made me hungry early in the morning!

And, of course, we can’t forget about desserts. A sweet treat to end a meal is always a delight. Thank you for reading.

How often do you walk or run

How often do you walk or run?

In this regard, I consider myself fortunate. During my work, I am always outdoors, breathing in fresh air and engaging in a fair amount of physical activity. Even during my rest days, I’m blessed to reside in a small village where these opportunities are readily available. Hence, worrying about incorporating walking or running into my routine isn’t a concern for me.

A Reflection on Leadership

Do you see yourself as a leader?

In my line of work, I often find myself in leadership roles, whether it’s as a Drill Master or a Supervisor. Leading a team can be a complex task, especially considering the variety of challenges that can arise in the field. However, I’ve always embraced this role with enthusiasm because, for me, working with people and fostering a well-functioning team is incredibly rewarding.

One key principle I’ve adhered to in my leadership journey is leading by example. I firmly believe that as a leader, I should be at the forefront of every task or challenge. By doing so, I not only set the pace but also demonstrate my commitment to the team’s objectives. This approach encourages my colleagues to follow willingly, knowing that I’m fully invested in the mission.

It’s true that some might perceive me as overly informal or direct in my leadership style. However, I see this as a strength. I believe in open and honest communication within the team, where everyone’s input is valued. This creates an environment where trust can flourish, and when your team trusts you, they’ll follow you through thick and thin.

In essence, leadership, in my view, isn’t about issuing orders from above. It’s about being an integral part of the team, working collaboratively, and inspiring others to achieve their best. I’ve found that when you lead from within the team, you build stronger connections, and together, you can overcome any obstacle.

So, yes, I see myself as a leader, but one who leads alongside the team, not from a distance. It’s a philosophy that has served me well in the ever-challenging world of drilling.

Best regards,
Lajos

What’s your favorite word

What’s your favorite word?

This is indeed a peculiar topic for me, given that our language is highly complex and consists of an extensive vocabulary. Just as a curiosity, Hungarian is estimated to have around 1,069,000 words, and our longest word has a whopping 69 letters.

With such a vast linguistic landscape, it’s challenging to pinpoint a single favorite word. However, I’d say that the richness and diversity of our language, with its many unique and expressive words, are what I appreciate the most. Every word has its place and purpose, contributing to the beauty and complexity of our language.

What are you doing this evening

What are you doing this evening?

I didn’t have any extravagant plans for this evening. In the late afternoon, as it cools down a bit, I intend to mow the lawn and tend to the plants in the yard. As for what comes after that, it’s still uncertain. However, it’s quite likely there will be a nice dinner preparation and some quality family time, with good conversation on the agenda.
